As a photographer, I want to make people feel something with my work. That feeling can be more in depth with specific projects, or it can be as simple as feeling confident about themselves with the portrait that I took. The initial photoshoot should be fun; it should be fun for me, and it should be fun for the subject that I am shooting. The most important part of my work though happens during editing. An average photo can become a masterpiece through editing. Doing color adjustments and fine tuning through sharpening can really make an photo pop. I am so excited to keep expanding my talent and learning more through my work. I am open to all opportunities for other local or small artists who may need help getting word out about their work.
As a journalist, I am able to cover stories of my community in multiple forms of media. Each different piece of media has its pros and cons, but I am able to work with these three to get the best story across. Working with The Notherner has given me the opportunity to learn how to cover a specific beat through background research, finding sources, and creating unique angles. Additionally, taking photos for this publication has been a great way to practice the art of photojournalism. I enjoy being able to shoot journalistic photos that tell a story without writing.
